We are looking for a person to join our friendly team to provide support in Colindale, NW9, on a full-time basis, on a flexible rota (weekdays and weekends, working 24-hour shifts - including sleep-ins).

" You will be lone working with a young man with autism, who is non-verbal, supporting him in his own home and in the community - spending most days undertaking his favourite activity, which is walking around London (on average 10 miles a day).

" You will need to help him prepare his food and cook his hot meals, whilst encouraging him to help where he can.

" You will need to provide support with his personal / intimate care, whilst promoting his independence.

" He regularly visits his mother and father for dinner (twice a week) and a trip into the community (one afternoon at the weekend). They live about 1 mile from his home. You will support him during these visits, so helping him maintain a close relationship with his family. Therefore, all team members naturally develop a close professional relationship with his parents, whilst joining in family mealtimes and days out.
