Supported Living
Salary: £10.75 - £12.00 per hour (plus sleep allowance if applicable) dependant on shift type, experience and training/qualifications.
Location- Leeds

Fully funded NVQ level 3 in health and social care
Lots of training around Psychology and Mental Health

Our client is a restorative and person-centred organisation based in the Leeds area. Delivering bespoke, wrap around support and accommodation to care experienced young people/adults aged 16+. You would be supporting young people with a range of complex needs and emotional and psychological difficulties.

The supported living services provide trauma informed, nurturing homely environments in which consistent support is underpinned by a model of care that places central emphasis on emotional, relational and environmental security.

Offering various packages of support to meet the needs of the individual young person ranging from a ratio of 1:1 to 2:1 staffing, also looking for staff to work in the group living settings. Support Workers will strive to achieve positive outcomes alongside Key Workers.
The overarching aim of all intervention will be to maintain the safety and wellbeing of each young person, and to support them to take steps towards greater self-reliance and a successful progression to adulthood.

This is fantastic opportunity for someone who can create strong relationships with Young people who are leaving care, this a unique role supporting children for disrupted background, these children have been through so much in their lives from Criminal exploitation and Sexual exploitation to suicide and self-harm. They are now at the point in their care journey where they are ready to leave care and become more independent.

There are both full and part time positions and you will be required to work across LS7, LS6 and LS16 in Leeds. This is an amazing role which really makes a difference to children and young people`s lives!

You will be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with young people who have complex needs and present challenging behaviour.

Your role will involve supporting and working with young people to develop all aspects of independent living skills, social/life skills, problem solving and planning skills and reducing risk-taking behaviour.

We are looking for the following essential skill set in our Support Workers (training will be provided): -
" Enthusiasm and commitment to working with hard to reach young people who have had poor experiences
" Ability to build positive relationships quickly
" Knowledge and experience of working in high challenge, high support environments (desirable)
" Ability to manage and respond to a range of behaviours using a calm, reassuring approach underpinned by support and supervision
" Commitment to safeguarding and risk management
" Self-motivated and confident with the ability to work unsupervised
" Commitment to equality and diversity
" Positive, flexible attitude towards work
