Job Description

Brook Street are currently recruiting a Children`s Support worker to join a lovely service based in County Durham, Gateshead.

The support will be for a young male aged 12 who has autism and is non verbal. He can display challenging behaviour and would need personal care assistance.

He likes to look at the countryside and be out in the fresh air. Looking for a friend and a support. 2:1 support is required at all times. and the shifts can be as follows.

Days - 6am-6pm or 8am-8pm

OR

Nights - 6pm-6am or 8pm-8am

You will be friendly and supportive, like the outdoors and happy to support this lovely YP.

You will have a proven background of supporting Children and Young People. NVQ Level 3 or above and a driver with their own car however, if you are excellent and a non driver you will be considered.

You must be happy to manage challenging behaviour and complete personal care for this vulnerable child.

Current salary for this role will be £20,800 for a full time 40 hour week contact. However this will increase to £27,000.

You will be invited to have NVQ level 4 training from day one.
