Support Worker
Full time
Cardiff
£11 an hour

We are working in partnership with a local care provider who are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work with and support a young male with Autism.

This is a full time position, working 37 hours a week which will include evenings and weekends.

You will be working alongside other talented and experienced Support Workers to ensure that the young male is given the best support possible.

This fantastic opportunity involves working within their family home with a wide variety of everyday tasks to enable the individual to live a happy and fulfilled life. There will be some elements of personal care, but the main focus of the role will be promoting the independence of the young man and supporting him in the family home.

Within the role involves you will be supporting the individual to attend activities such as swimming, gym, going on holidays, visits to local attractions, and accessing nature and the beach through walking. You will also be required to support the individual to gain access to their local and wider community.

You will promote building relationships, social inclusion and positive engagement within the community. You will also work together with the behaviour support team and their families to provide the best support.


The ideal candidate will have;

  • Previous experience in supporting challenging adults.
  • Be able to work as part of a team or alone.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Be able to receive and convey information both orally and written.
  • Full and Clean Driving Licence.


There will be intensive training and support from a relationship based trained consultant and Speech and Language Therapist, as well as continued support throughout your time as a Support Worker.
