BS Social Care are proud to be working alongside one of the largest care providers in the country who have a large presence in the North East and Yorkshire as the look for experienced support workers.
Based in rural Yorkshire near Doncaster, the CQC rated GOOD home is in a fantastic setting. By providing a safe and secure environment, we try our utmost to allow our resident to thrive and achieve goals they have.
The majority of the residents are deaf and there are both signers and non-signing staff. Experience of BSL would be desirable but not essential. You will be expected to learn BSL as part of the role, which would be hugely beneficial to both the service and your own personal developments.
The shifts could please very appealing to workers who enjoy prolonged period off as there are a lot of long day. Typical patterns work out so you achieve the 37.5 hours per week you are contracted for over 10 days a month with a pattern of long shifts and 2-3 sleeps-ins.
You will be very flexible and empathetic with experience of working with some challenging behaviour. The use of a personal car is essential because of the ruralness of the service. As a service, empowerment of service users is key and teamwork is vital to achieve this.
An NVQ3 in health and social care would be very beneficial for an application. There are training benefits both in house and external, they are willing to help you access any BSL courses.
