Job Description

Calling all Support workers!

I am working on behalf of a well-established organisation who work with people suffering from MH and LD. This organisation have immediate start dates available on a temporary basis within the Northumberland Area. We are looking to recruit support professionals to assist weekly at this particular service. If you are interested please get in contact!


Within this job role you must have the knowledge and experience to support people with learning disabilities to the highest standard in line with their care plan and uphold their cultural needs and wishes. You will be supporting people to manage their own home, including assistance with personal care, which may include toileting and bathing. You are there to support and encourage service users to make choices and life decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements and assist and encourage them to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work-related activities. You may need to support service users with their health needs as required, e.g. taking medication and attending doctor`s appointments and keep accurate and up to date records using internal IT systems. You will also be there to promote health, safety and the well-being of the people the organisation supports and work positively with colleagues, families and external organisations and professionals.

Ideal requirements:
" 6 months min experience working within health and social care
" Medication trained
" DBS on the update service preferred
" References covering 2 years
" NVQ 2 or 3 in health and social care preferable
" Ability to assist with some personal care
"

" Caring and understanding personality
" Good communication skills
" Good numeracy and literacy skills
" Ability to use own initiative
" Self-direction

Working hours - We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts, including sleep in nights, weekends and bank holidays.
