Job Description

Mental Health Support Worker
Wakefield
Ongoing Temporary Days and nights
Variety of shifts available
Pay rate: - £9.00- £11.00

Do you have experience in Mental Health or Learning Difficulties?
Do you have experience in dealing with challenging behaviours?

Our client provides residential care plus a range of therapies and enrichment activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities. Their needs are at the heart of everything they do from outstanding school, beautiful grounds and a technology team that help people maintain their independence. Because of the work they do, families can focus on their actual relationships rather than being teachers, nurses and carers.


Full Induction Training will be provided however some experience of working in a similar setting is essential as the circumstances of the people being supported will be complex. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.


Role & Responsibilities
" Support individuals with mental health and learning difficulties
" Flexible staff to join the team in providing focused support, enabling people to live as independently as possible.
" Provide practical empowering support to clients in an enabling way, including encouraging and supporting them to undertake the day-to-day aspects of daily life, including when required, helping them to take medication in line with the support plan and standard operating procedures
" Commitment to enable the people we support to be as independent as possible and maximise opportunities.
" Work inline with the agreed support plan for the individual, ensuring that goals are actively worked towards and developed, to achieve the maximum level of independence for the individual.
" Support the individual to learn to use small pieces of equipment and assistive technology as appropriate to maximise their independence.
" To work with individual clients and their families, carers and friends to support them to access their communities.
" To undertake ongoing review and monitoring of an individual`s progress against the goals set in the Support Plan and report progress.
" To act as a key worker for clients
