Job Description

Title: Support Worker **Nights**
Salary: £9.50 an hour
Location: Truro
Contract Type: Permanent (20 - 30 hours) plus weekend work once every 2 weeks

About the Role:

Your role will be working as a Support Worker in a friendly and supportive team based in a registered care home in Truro City Centre.

You will be given bespoke training in moving and handling, first aid & using specialist equipment such as hoists. You will also be trained on PEG feeding and using catheters.

The service provides support for adults & elderly people with learning difficulties. Some service users have complex needs which includes physical impairments such as spinal & brain injury. Your approach will therefore vary on an individual basis as you familiarize with the service.

Shifts:

You are expected to work alternating weekends where you have one weekend off and one weekend on. The shifts are 21:00pm to 08:00am 5 days a week.

You are expected to work 20 to 30 hours a week depending on your preference. So part time positions are available.

About YOU:
¢ MUST be double vaccinated
¢ Previous experience in Support Work preferable but NOT essential
¢ Previous experience with learning difficulties ideal
¢ Comfortable with challenging behaviour
¢ You are resilient, determined & patient
