Job Description

BS Social care are working with a national charity that specialise in providing support to adults who have learning disabilities. The organisation has a number of services in and around London, and currently, are recruiting for Support Workers in Roehampton, which is in the borough of Wandsworth. The service is NOT a 24 hour setting, and as such, no waking nights or sleep in shifts are required to be covered.

My client has a range of supported living and outreach services that support adults who have mild to complex needs, particularly around learning disabilities and mental health needs. The service in Roehampton is a 10 bed setting, made up of self contained flats. You will be able to read, understand and implement the support that is stipulated in individuals support plans. You will be able to record, and update support plans so the aim of promoting independent living skills and ensuring any health and care needs are met.
You will work closely with the team leader, to ensure a smooth and seamless support service, that is focused on achieving outcomes, and promoting independent living skills. You will work as part of a team of 7 support workers.

- You will be required to cover a minimum of 5 days per week (including alternate weekend working)
- You will have a minimum of 6 months experience supporting adults with mental health or learning disabilities within a residential care home, outreach or supported living environment
- You will hold a NVQ level 2 in health and social care (or equivalent)
- You will be available to work 5 days a week on a rota pattern
- Experience of support planning and managing adults with complex needs

The shifts will be 7am/8am - 2pm/3pm OR 2pm/3pm-9pm/10pm. The role is a 37.5 hour per week contract, and the hourly rate is between £9.74 per hour up to £10.17 per hour, dependent on experience - This is equivalent to a salary range of £19,047 - £19,889 per annum.

Successful applicants will be called within 24 hours, with the outlook of arranging interviews within 48 hours of contact. The opening of the service is dependent on the fulfilment of these roles, so urgency to hire is a priority.
