Job Description

Do you want to work for a forward-thinking, proactive organisation who specialise in the provision of support to adults with learning disability and autism? If so please read on as we are recruiting now for Support Workers who want to make a difference to the lives of adults with a learning disability.

This innovative, progressive organisation provides specialist services to people with a learning disability, autism and behaviours that may challenge. They offer a person-centred approach, outcome focused and are keen to attract people to join their company who want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.

The role of a Support Worker will be based at their brand new Supported Living service for adults with learning disability. Duties will include supporting the adults with their daily routines, helping prepare meals, support with medications, ensuring their safety day to day, support with evening routines, and help to promote independent living skills. You will have the opportunity to engage with the service users, support them with their daily living and support them back into the community. You will deliver support in line with the company policies and procedures, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Who are we looking for?
Ideally you will be a calm, relaxed and self motivated individual who has strong values, a positive and `can-do` attitude and with a good sense of humour! Experience and an understanding of working with vulnerable people with a disability is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Your passion and commitment to making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people is key.

Previous experience and relevant qualifications are not essential but a positive attitude and good value base is essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The roles are permanent and based on a 38 hour working week on rolling rota, including days and night shifts (2 day and 1 night shift per week).
