BS Social Care are working with one of the UK's leading Education and Childrens services. Based at a specialist residential setting for young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties. An exciting opportunity as presented itself to work within its residential school.
I am currently recruiting for experienced level 3 Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis to undertake education support duties and assist the class teacher in the day to day needs of the students to help with their care and to enable the teacher to implement the curriculum.
Duties will include:
- To help students progress and manage their behaviours in a postive manner
- The help keep up to date records on the students and work as part of a team.
- To attend training where relevant.
Autism can present very challenging behaviours and staff must have the confidence and emotional resilience to deal with these.
This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.
To be successful within this role you will need a minium of one years experience within a school setting and have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma. It would also be desirable for you to have experience working with children that have learning disabilities or autism.
