Job Description

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for team leader or acting team leader at a well established, children children provider in South Birmingham

We are currently working with a client that supports children and young people with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviour. They offer a home environment to all the children and young people under their care and go above and beyond to promote a safe, happy and nurturing environment.

We are looking for an engaging, confident and hard working individual that is currently a team leader or looking to make that step up. You will hold a QCF level 3 in Children`s residential and have up to five years experience in children services ideally with children with learning disabilities. You must also be able to drive and have a full clean UK driving license.

The role will consist of the following responsibilities and duties;

* 40 hours per week on a mixed rota of days, nights and weekend + Sleeps with a rota on call system

*Ensure the ongoing assessment of children and young people`s needs in day to day practice and promote a safe, happy, structured and nurturing environment.

*Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, professionals, children, and families.

*Work along side all members of the management team and take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts including the planning and facilitation of school runs and activities

*Willingness and demonstrable ability to deputise in the absence of senior management within the home and make appropriate decisions

*To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people and to report immediately any unsafe practices and conditions.

*Ensure all staff practice is in line with best practice and the children and young people`s Care and Placement Plans

*To be a team player and oversee and supervise the skills of the RSWs, whilst supporting them in any leaning and development with their roles.


In return you can expect a competitive salary of £19,750 to £21,000 depending on experience, plus sleep in allowance. In house training and personal development package and career progression, Free car parking and generous holiday allowance is also on offer.
