Job Description

A unique residential setting located on the Birmingham/Worcester border is looking to recruit a TEAM LEADER to join their service. Providing 24 hour care for a mixture of older adults and young adults with learning disabilities, complex care needs, challenging behaviours, physical disabilities and some mental health diagnosis.

As well as being a very rewarding role where no two days are the same, you will sometimes be faced with challenging behaviours as is often the case when supporting those experiencing mental distress. We are looking for someone with a calm and resilient approach. Your daily duties will include supporting residents to be as independent as possible. Working alongside service users supporting them to make meals, do daily cleaning and go on outings. You will help to provide a place of rehabilitation with the view to helping those who stay in this setting to go on to live independently.

As a Team Leader you will be leading a team of 22 support workers. You will delegate the duties of the shift and ensure their completion. You will coordinate activities for service users and hold service users forums. Your focus will be to maintain a high level of professionalism whilst providing person centred care. You will be someone who can empower your team and the service users you support.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a learning disabilities setting and be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. You will have a strong belief in delivering person centred care, as well as the commitment needed for this role, such as the flexibility to work shifts. Ideally you will be a driver due to the rural location of this service. Strong levels of literacy are needed for this role as there is large amount of paperwork involved e.g. completion of care plans and daily logs. *You must also have in-date Medication training*

You will receive induction training, as well as ongoing Continued Professional Development. There is a varied shift pattern including long days. It is essential that you will have flexibility to work alternate weekends.

You will be paid an hourly rate of £10.45 per hour and work a minimum of 150hrs a month. This post is due to start in ASAP.
