I am working with a reputable, respected organisation to recruit several unit managers with a proven background in elderly, dementia care and support, on an initial fixed term 12-month period for a large state of the art care home for older adults and people living with dementia in the Dudley Borough.
You will join an organisation that invests heavily in staff and service development and has secured recognition nationally for their work and support.
Working closely with an established management team, you will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the service. Care and support planning, report writing and liaising with external agencies will form part of your role. You will also be committed to delivering high quality personal care and support, promoting independence and maintaining a warm, homely environment.
As Unit manager, you will be responsible for running an individual floor within this state-of-the-art setting. Specialist areas of care include advanced dementia, physical disabilities and general residential support for older adults.
As part of the unit manager role, you will be required to manage and lead your team effectively, mentor and deliver training where required. Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including some anti-social hours is essential.
The ideal candidate will be a committed, motivated and compassionate individual who can demonstrate a significant background within a supervisory role within elderly residential care settings. You will be committed to leading by example and the delivery of high-quality care and support. Extensive knowledge and experience of dementia care and support are essential for this role.
To apply for this vacancy, you will hold a minimum of QCF level 3 in health and social care and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Up to date medication training is desirable.
You will already be employed in a similar role and be confident in running a busy floor/unit.
