Job Description

** Children and Young Persons Buddy Role **
** Buckinghamshire **
** Permanent full time or part time (3 days at the least) **
** Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm with some flexibility if a session needs to be an hour earlier or later but this time will be returned in lieu / bank holidays off **
** £18,278 - £24,984 - depending on previous relevant experience and transferable skills **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a countrywide children`s charity for 6 full time and permanent Children and Young Peoples CAMHS Buddy that deliver short term evidence based interventions to support children and young people with a variety of mild - moderate mental health conditions, such as anxiety and self-harm.

Some buddies also work in other pathways alongside clinicians and deliver more specialist and longer-term input, under the guidance of trained clinicians.

About the job;

To operate a fully functioning safe and effective single point of access.
To deliver short term interventions to children and young people with mild - moderate mental health conditions.
To carry out basic screening assessments on a monthly basis.
To deliver a range of 1:1 work and groups to best support children and their families.
To attend meetings in relation to safeguarding.
To liaise with a range of professionals.
To provide signposting support to children and families.
To develop and maintain meaningful participation from children, young people and their families, in order to inform service development.

About the ideal candidate;

Essential - to have experience of working with children, young people and their families; preferably 11yr - 17yrs old.
Essential - driving licence as you will need to travel to different locations so using public transport wouldn't be an option.
To have some knowledge and experience of mental health issues and their impact on children and young people.
Have some knowledge and experience of mental health issues and their impact on children and young people.
IT literate as the information you record will be held on an electronic device.
Passionate about the work you do and helping children and young people.
Can manage own diary.
Team player.

Salary and more; this role is a permanent full time role however we are able to offer part time working at the least 3 days per week. We couldn't accept anything less. Working hours; Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm with some flexibility needed in rare occasions. All bank holidays off. The salary offered is £18,278 - £24,984 alongside masses of benefits such as; bank holidays off, annual leave, full induction, training, qualifications, progression, strong supervision scheme, formal appraisals, monthly team meetings and more.
