BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Childrens Registered Home Manager based within the Peterborough area of Cambridgeshire working 40 hours per week on a permanent basis paying £33,000 - £40,000. This role is to work with 3 young people of either gender between the age range of 11yrs - 18yrs.

About the job; to ensure that the home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with Care Standards. To establish and maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to staff at all levels. To ensure that the home's policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively. To develop systems for the efficient administration of the home and to ensure that the fabric of the home, equipment, appliances and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with health and safety requirements. To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. To liaise with local authorities, school, health and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for young people. To actively promote the home's equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies.

You will manage a home registered by Ofsted to provide residential care for up to 3 young people of either gender, between the ages of 11-18. You will provide care and support to young people who may have experienced abuse, neglect and exclusion in the past in a flexible and relaxed fashion. You will offer medium to long term placements for young people and preparation for the next step in their lives whether it is a return home, a move to another placement or the transition to independence. The home has high staffing ratios and the provision of a Key Worker for each young person ensures that all young people receive the level of support and direction they require to benefit fully from their experience of being looked after and will be the person responsible for that.

About the ideal candidate; ideally, we are looking for candidates who hold the NVQ Level 4 in Caring for Children & Young People (actual or in progress) or equivalent, at least 2 years working with children within the past 5 years plus 1 year at Senior Level in residential care, a driving licence, a sound knowledge of care standards and knowledge of childcare legislation including child protection.

For this full time and permanent role, you will be offered a salary of £33,000 - £40,000 alongside a number of benefits.
