Events Officer/PMO Officer
Monday to Friday 9-5
£17.99
Temporary assignment for 6 months with a possible extension


Job summary

The team engages with government policy teams, cross-government partners and industry to maximise impact and opportunity. A key objective is supporting the delivery of the Department's trade agenda

The postholder will be part of a flexible pool supporting work-stream leads deliver across a range of functions covering policy, governance, logistics, communications and stakeholder engagement.


Duties and responsibilities:

You will have to operate in an agile environment and support workload peaks; you will need to demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will need to be adaptable and resilient.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead on policy and strategy delivery aspects of an international ministerial event that may include a private dinner, a showcase and Summit day, and potential regional visits.
  • Lead on various ministerial support products such as invitations, speaking notes / speeches and briefings.
  • Raise the profile and promote the international ministerial event within the Department
  • Support and lead on certain operational delivery aspects of the event
  • Liaise with contractors to provide clear direction on event requirements and monitor delivery performance
  • Provide secretariat support across governance forums, including minute taking, monitoring and tracking actions and decisions, preparing papers and packs, lining up agendas and forward looks.
  • Prepare monthly deep dives on specific topics such as risks, planning workshops, lead on corporate reporting.
  • Contribute to post event review, lessons learned and programme closure.
  • Support the delivery of event communications and engagement plans


Experience required:


o International and/or major domestic event experience.
o Project delivery or programme management support.
o Ability to work in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
o Excellent time management and organisation skills, managing competing priorities
o Excellent attention to detail
