Family Support Worker

Brook Street Social Care are recruiting Family Support Workers for our clients residential parenting assessment centre for parents and their children.

Offering a range of services focusing on evidence-based assessments and the needs of vulnerable parents. We also believe that the service should exist to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming home that builds confidence and equips parents with all the necessary skills to parent safely and independently wherever possible.

The Role

• Provide direct support to families as required
• Ensure routines are being followed
• Ensure parents decisions are taken on board and maintained
• Provide a high quality, dependable service which meet our values and standards
• Work closely with families, observing and recording the parent's abilities to meet the immediate safety and care needs of their children through observations
• Provide appropriate advice and guidance to families in accordance with their work programmes
• Work in partnership with families, colleagues, and professionals
• Attend training courses and other development opportunities as agreed with line manager to ensure compliance with CPD requirements

Requirements

• Qualification in childcare/education or equivalent
• Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Acting as a key worker and undertaking observations
• Experience of working with babies, toddlers or pre-school children
