Job Description

A cover for maternity leave wanted 8.5 month with the possibility to become a permanent role after this period!

Is your background in Social Care, Support/Care work with children or you have been a Residential Care Manager?

Then you can be part of our team of Independent Visitors who examine and scrutinize the way in which the children's home is carried on or managed and the quality of care that the children's home provides for the children accommodated there.

Here are some of our DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will visit the 8 homes in Plymouth, one in Yeovil and four in South Wales on a monthly basis.

You will carry out the Reg44/Reg32 monitoring visits to the homes. This will be in line with the Reg 44/32 Protocol and to carry out Internal Audits in line with protocol as required.

Your visits to homes can be carried out mid-week, evenings or at week-ends as required. Each home should have at least 1 weekend visit out of 3.

Important for you to remember is that all visits to all homes should be unannounced at least within once 6 months.

If there is an identified potential conflict of interest this must be declared without delay and if practicable, before conducting a visit.

You will apply knowledge from The Children Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and The Children's Homes (Wales) Regulations 2002.

And always act in a professional manner.

You will have a training by the Director of Quality & Regulation.

And finally, You will be responsible to leave detailed action plans with Home Managers to complete and send to the Operations Managers/Director within 48 hours, ensuring the reports are typed, professional and sent to admin within the required time scales.
