Job Description

My client is a market leading innovation company who are looking for a Material Expediter reporting to the NPI Project Lead you will be responsible for monitoring and enabling timely progress of materials and orders through the business to meet delivery and throughput requirements.


Your responsibilities:

  • Support NPI Project Lead and Planning Team in ensuring progress of materials and orders through the business
  • Locate and distribute materials to the assigned work area and update MRP system and Planning / NPI tracking sheets
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine overdue work and to inform planners of material status
  • Monitor shop floor shortages, escalate quickly and resolve with Stores and Planning teams.
  • Monitor works orders and advise on progress to schedule. This will necessitate interrogating reports and schedules generated by the Production Planning team and NPI Lead
  • Support in kitting and packaging of product to requirements to enable delivery

Who are you:

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing business - in similar or relevant role (Production or Planning)
  • Ability to understand production schedules within a manufacturing business
  • Good written, verbal and report writing skills
  • Accurate and organised
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Email, Excel, Word etc.)
  • Some Production Planning experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • MRP skills
  • Microsoft skills
  • Accuracy and numeracy skills
  • Kitting and issuing
  • Non-smoker/Vaper

The Material Expediter should be a strong team player with very good communication skills. They should be flexible and adaptable in their hours and tasks depending on the levels of workload and needs of the business. They should be able to work independently without too much direction and take responsibility for decisions made. They should be creative and innovative to enable the company to move forwards.
