Job Description

We are recruiting for two Senior support workers for a children's residential service based in Hyde.

You will be working for a social enterprise that support children and young people through education, fostering and residential care. Their objective is to enhance the psychological health of children within the care system. They focus on emotional, behavioural, social and developmental needs of the young people.

Your role will be as a senior to support children and young people through Restorative Parenting that have experienced trauma in their life. You will be supporting young people that can demonstrate complex and challenging behaviour at times.

Your day will always be varied and it will always be interesting! You will work closely with the deputy manager to support with the running of the home and shift leading. You will also be a key worker to a young person to ensure they have the right care and support and it always of high standard. You will need to show warmth and care to the young people as you will be supporting them with cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, pocket money and education.

To be considered for the role of a senior support worker you Will need to have a QCF Level 3 in residential child care or children and young people. You would have worked in a residential setting before with at last 6 months experience in shift leading. You will need to be a driver with a manual driving license.

Salary: £9.75 - £11.08 per hour (£23,643 up to £26,552, dependent on experience and qualification. Quoted salary is based on 47 hours per week which includes 40 hours on rota and 7 hours compulsory overtime (sleeps, training and meetings).

The post holder will work towards a 5 week rolling cycle and will need to be available for 24 hour shifts.
