Support Worker: Adults Learning Disabilities (Challenging Behaviour)

Contract: zero hours/agency

Pay rate: £13 - £15+ per hour (PAYE)

Holiday pay is separate, NOT inclusive of your hourly pay. i.e. £11.50 + holiday pay

Your role will be supporting young adults with learning disabilities within their residential home to promote independence and aid with fulfilling life skills and house tasks in addition to helping engage within their local community. Additionally, you will be involved in in-house and community-based activities including going to the cinema, meals day trips and medical appointments.

For this role, you must be resilient in supporting individuals with complex needs and ideally have experience in de-escalation. Ideally you will have in-date PBM training (with a certificate) however, we regularly have training held for PBM, manual handling, medication and more so can get you trained up to explore other opportunities. Shift patterns include days and wakes.

Due to the location of the service and current needs, you MUST be a driver with access to your own vehicle and should your vehicle be used on shift, you will be reimbursed for the milage.

Alternatively, we work with a large array of organisations across South Wales with new requirements all the time that enable us to have the opportunity to offer you work with different people and different environments including children and young people, elderly people, homeless and mental health.

Requirements:

  • Driver with access to your own vehicle
  • 6 months UK based care experience in the last year OR a year in the last 5 years
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
  • Willing to undergo DBS and reference checks
  • Willing to undertake personal care
  • To be approachable, friendly, proactive and engage with the services users
  • Great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
