Job Description

An independent charitable organisation that is based in Wolverhampton, is looking to expand their close-knit team. This client has a vision for all women and children to live in a society free from violence, oppression and abuse.

If you have had at least five year's experience dealing counselling to women, children and young people, hold a level 4 minimum counselling qualification and are registered with BACP then being a therapeutic wellbeing coordinator may be your next career move.

As Therapeutic Well-being Coordinator you will be responsible for the creation, coordination and delivery of a pilot that will demonstrate additional routes to support for women, Children and Young People (CYP) to access therapeutic well-being support.

The ideal candidate should have the following key skills and experience;

* At least five years' experience delivering counselling to women, children and young people.

* Experience of effectively managing own case load of high risk clients and ensuring a thorough record is maintained.

* Knowledge and understanding of the benefits of various types of counselling therapies for women and children (CBT, Person-Centred, Gestalt).

* Have a good understanding of domestic abuse and risk assessment, including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.

Your day to day duties and scope of the job will consist of but will not be limited to the following;

* Manage a case load of high-risk clients and CYP
* Manage Sessional staff at peak times - they will oversee a case-load of high-risk clients where demand for high risk client support requires additional 1-2-1 support.
* Supervise Undergraduate /level 4 diploma students on counselling placements, who will deliver counselling to women and offer 1-2-1 therapy to CYP.
*Deliver a baseline of approximately 8 sessions per client, but adjust to meet the needs of those requiring more intensive support based on assessment.
*Conduct initial assessments, to put a plan of support in place which will include the type of therapy best suited to the client's needs (e.g. CBT, Person Centred, Gestalt etc.)
*Must have a flexible approach to ensure client receives best counselling service.
*Create a plan to incorporate the therapeutic support into the organisation service delivery to ensure sustainability beyond the project, this will include ideas for income generating.
